Griswold Community School District
The Griswold Community School District is located in southwest Iowa serving the communities of Elliott, Grant, Griswold, Lewis and Lyman. In August 2019, GCSD opened its doors to a new elementary addition which marked the beginning of having pre-school through 12th grade students all in one central location. (Previously, the elementary grades were served in two buildings, located in Elliott and Lewis.)
While the Griswold Community School District is on one campus, we still have two attendance centers. The Griswold Elementary Building is utilized as an educational learning facility for students in PK-5th grade. This attendance center has 35,130 square feet and has an enrollment capacity of 782 students. The Griswold Middle School / High School Building is utilized as an educational learning facility for students in grades 6-12. This attendance center has 89,300 square feet and has an enrollment capacity of 1,000 students.
The Griswold Community School District does not currently own any education buildings which are vacant. This information is required to be posted in accordance with SF 2368.
The mission of the Griswold Community School District, in partnership with our families and communities,
is to provide leadership for positive change to ensure the best learning opportunities for everyone in a safe and caring environment.
